Bio: Evan Hynes is co-founder of Climatebase, the platform for climate employment. Climatebase makes it easy to discover jobs at the organizations working to solve the climate crisis, and connect with others in the climate community. Climatebase also recently announced the Climatebase Fellowship, a new 10-week remote climate career accelerator and educational experience for the most talented, mission-driven members of the Climatebase community. More information can be found on Climatebase.org.
After getting introduced to Project Drawdown’s groundbreaking publication of the top 100 climate solutions, Evan found himself asking, “Who’s working on these solutions? And who’s hiring?”
What first began as a spreadsheet, then evolved into the world’s first climate career fair — which then evolved into a website called Climate.Careers, now known as Climatebase. Since January 2020, Climatebase has served tens-of-thousands of people driven to leverage their skills, passion, and careers as a vehicle for climate action and impact.
The mission at Climatebase: Mobilize the world’s talent to solve the climate crisis.
Prior to his work in climate, Evan was an early employee at Make School, a nonprofit college for computer science, where he served as Head of Community and helped expand Make School to new locations across the US and Asia. He also spent some time in talent acquisition and software sales. Evan graduated UC Santa Barbara in 2013, where he studied Fine Art, Communication, and Technology Entrepreneurship.
